A busy mum-of-two who works as a nurse has shared her time-saving trick that makes the chore less ‘boring’ and cuts her weekly laundry time in half.
In addition to motherhood and nursing, Brisbane-based Leanne regularly shares snaps of her organised life with her 20,000 followers on Instagram.
Recently, she took to her page to reveal details of her clever laundry time-saving idea – and all it requires is a clothing rack and a selection of different-coloured hangers.
Leanne’s simple system means nothing gets pegged on the line. Instead, clothing is placed on coloured hangers and hung from a clothing rack.

When it’s dry it can be placed straight into the closet.
‘In our household, all our clothes are hung up except for our underwear and socks. The underwear gets hung up to dry on a peg rack and folded into a drawer,’ Leanne wrote on the post.
The savvy mum streamlined things even further by hanging each member of her family’s clothing on different colour coat-hangers.
‘I hang all our clothes on this clothes rack to dry and then hang them straight into the wardrobe when they are dry,’ she said.

‘Best of all I can hang the clothes while watching Netflix and I can do my washing no matter what the weather.’
Hundreds who have seen the savvy mum’s post on social media have been quick to say how excited they are at the prospect of trying the simple trick.
‘Don’t mind washing but folding, sorting out takes so much of my time which I don’t really like!,’ said one.
While another said: ‘Hanging to dry on coat hangers is great. I need to hang more and use drawers less!’
