NYC terrorist once owned a 60,000lb tractor-trailer

Sayfullo Saipov, 29, worked as a professional trucker living on-and-off in Tampa since 2011. It was revealed he had addresses in Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey, and ran his own truck sharing companies but had spent the last six months working as an Uber driver

The Uzbek immigrant who mowed down eight people in a Home Depot truck in an act of terror on Tuesday once owned a much more lethal 60,000lb tractor-trailer, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Records also show Sayfullo Saipov’s car was photographed in the New York City area as recently as two months ago.

After moving to the U.S. in 2010, Saipov, 29, worked as a professional trucker living on-and-off in Tampa since 2011.

It was revealed he had addresses in Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey, and ran his own truck sharing companies but had spent the last six months working as an Uber driver.

Saipov obtained a Florida driver’s license in June 2015, according to state records.

A month later he registered the license plate of a semi-trailer, a 2006 Freightliner Columbia truck worth about $15,000 with a license plate No. N9311U. Registration papers indicate Saipov bought the big rig with cash.

However, by the end of that year, Saipov failed to renew the vehicle’s registration, making it illegal for him to drive. It is unclear whether he sold the rig.

Records also show Saipov bought a Great Dane trailer for heavy hauling in 2014 in Ohio then sold it to a business in Loxahatchee, Florida, two years later.

One of the owners of trucking business Mather Home Florida in Loxahatchee told DailyMail.com she couldn’t recall if she ever met Saipov.

‘I saw his face on the television,’ Yamilet Sanchez Vizcay said, ‘but I have no idea if he ever sold us anything. Don’t know him.’

Tractor-trailers similar in size and weight to Saipov’s have been used in several terror incidents in Europe, including the 2016 Bastille attacks in Nice, France which killed 86 people and the attack on the German Christmas Market in Berlin on December 19, 2016, when 12 people were killed.

On Wednesday it emerged that Saipov followed ISIS instructions for truck attacks that he found on social media.

Records obtained by DailyMail.com show Saipov appeared to be driving his 2004 Toyota Sienna in the New York City area recently. Above is the vehicle when it was photographed by street surveillance cameras in Orange, NJ on Central Avenue near South Center Street about 7 p.m. August 17

Additional records show he garnered at least six traffic tickets in the past six years on his job, mostly for not properly maintaining his truck and other equipment, and for keeping inaccurate on-duty and rest logs that long-haul drivers are required to maintain.

He was cited for not keeping driving hours log up to day in April 21, 2011 in Harfod County, Maryland.

A year later he was given the same citation in Pike, Pennsylvania and pleaded guilty for the offense.

Saipov was pulled over again in Cumberland, Pennsylvania in March 2015, when he was given a ticket for driving with unsafe equipment and hauling a trailer that exceeded maximum length, and pleaded guilty to both.

The following month he was cited again for failure to maintain required brake system in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

According to records, Saipov had a valid Class A commercial driver’s license necessary to operate trucks heavier than 20,000lbs.
