The New York Police Department is reviewing two incidents captured on police scanners across the city that appear to have officers sanctioning violence against demonstrators.
On Monday evening, as thousands took to the streets to protest the death of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter, New York City implemented a curfew of 11pm.
But just a few hours prior to the curfew’s enforcement, police were believed to have been heard on two occasions threatening protesters.

‘There’s a group headed the 77th Precinct there’s a group, may be heading towards there please,’ an officer reports.
Another voice quickly responds: ‘Shoot those motherf*****s.’
‘Don’t put that over the air,’ another officer can be heard responding.

‘Central, we have a group of people blocking traffic on Albany and Dean street,’ one officer states. ‘They’re refusing to…go eastbound on Dean Street and Albany, so we’re stuck here.’

It is unclear whether they are actually NYPD officers making comments on the scanner.
Multiple videos have shown NYPD officers attacker peaceful protesters during the demonstrations across the city.
But during a Thursday press conference, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said only a ‘couple of officers’ would be suspended for their actions, which he simply called ‘unprofessional.’
Thursday saw thousands meet up in Camdman Plaza Park in Brooklyn to memorialize Geoege Floyd, with his brother – Terrence Floyd – making an appearance.
Floyd and the protesters then marched on the Brooklyn Bridge.
