NZ pastor deported after he called teenager at a mosque a terrorist

The self-styled New Zealand Baptist pastor who was charged for verbally abusing worshippers at a mosque has now been deported.

Controversial pastor Logan Robertson filmed himself leaving the airport and from his detention cell, asking: ‘How sick is a government who would do something like that because you said you hate a religion?’

The Pillar Baptist Church pastor was accused of shouting racist slander towards a 65-year-old man and 15-year-old boy earlier in the month when he and a group of followers turned up to Kuraby Mosque in Brisbane.

Police alleged the group of men told two men ‘you don’t belong in this country, you bl***y terrorist, and we should burn this place down to the ground’.

It was also alleged Mr Robertson referred to Islam as a cult and asked if the marriage between the prophet Muhammad and his wife Aisha amounted to paedophilia.

A day later, the 31-year-old pastor visited the Darra Mosque in Oxley where he was filmed in a heated exchange with Islamic Council of Queensland spokesman Ali Kadri.

‘You want to be violent? You want to be a terrorist?’ Mr Kadri allegedly told Mr Robertson during the fiery confrontation.

‘You are coming and terrorising 15-year-old kids and 65-year-old women. Is that what you’re doing? Dividing our country?’

Mr Robertson and two other men aged 28 and 29 were each charged with two counts of public nuisance and one count each of enter premises with intent and trespass.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton cancelled Mr Robertson’s Australian visa and he was reportedly arrested by Australian Border Force officers.

‘Our country embraces free speech but doesn’t tolerate hate speech and we don’t tolerate people who are going to harass those people going about their business at a place of worship,’ Mr Dutton said.

‘Whether you are going to a mosque, whether you are going to a church, people have the right within our country to practice their religious belief and to do it unhindered.’

In the video entitled ‘Goodbye Australia’ and uploaded to the Pillar Baptist Church Youtube page, Mr Robertson said he was not willing to fight the deportation order.

‘I’ve got better things to do,’ he explained.

Mr Robertson said he wasn’t sure what his future held but that he was ‘sure God has a plan’.

In a recent post, it appears the pastor has travelled to the Philippines to set up another church.
