Octavia Spencer was overcome with emotion as she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday.
The star, 52, dabbed away at her tears with a tissue while waiting to accept the special honor, and was joined by a number of famous friends, including her The Help co-stars Viola Davis and Allison Janney, along with her Spirited co-star Will Ferrell.
The Academy Award winner looked incredible for the occasion, wearing an elegant black peplum dress and cheetah sandal heels.

The Alabama-born entertainer wore her black tresses parted in the middle and cascading down in bouncy curls.
As for glam, Octavia opted for bronze eyeshadow, and a cranberry shade of lipstick.

Spencer and Farrell co-star in Spirited, Apple TV+’s musical comedy re-telling of A Christmas Carol, which premiered on November 18.
Aubie the Tiger – the mascot of Spencer’s alma mater, Auburn University – also made an appearance at the ceremony.
The actress’ star is the 2,742nd one since the Walk of Fame was completed in 1961.

Upon finding out that she would be receiving the honor, Spencer revealed she was speechless.
‘How do you respond to that? To know that you will forever be a part of the mythology of this town. It was a rare moment where I just couldn’t think of anything to say,’ she told Variety.
‘It’s a place where you can actually see that bygone era of stars who are no longer with it. And you can actually reach out and touch their star. It can make it feel attainable to people. It’s just a rare and huge honor,’ she added.
