Several pieces of a McDonald’s restaurant playground have been put up for auction.

Officer Big Mac is a character that was launched by the fast food restaurant as part of a marketing campaign for McDonaldland in the 1970s to the 1990s

Officer Big Mac is a character that was launched by the fast food restaurant as part of a marketing campaign for McDonaldland in the 1970s to the 1990s.

He joined other McDonald’s characters in 1971 and was subsequently dropped in 1985.

However, he continued to have a presence with the other toys at a number of restaurants.

Trade Me spokeswoman Millie Silvester said the playground pieces bring back much loved childhood memories.

‘These retro McDonald’s playground pieces seem to bring back happy memories and unfortunate incidents for many kids of the 80s and 90s,’ she told Stuff.

In 2017, an auction featuring an Officer Big Mac climber jail, a Mayor McCheese roundabout and a Hamburglar dual swing set was auctioned off for $11,000.

The auction was the most viewed item on the website that year, reaching a total of 115,000 views.
