Officeworks recalls iPhone power bank over fire fears: Comsol magnetic device users warned not to use device

A magnetic charger popular with iPhone users has been recalled from Officeworks over fears the device could catch alight.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued an urgent recall for all Comsol Pty Ltd 10000mAh 20W USB-A & USB-C magnetic wireless power bank on Wednesday morning.
The recall notification states that the product may ‘short circuit, overheat, and catch fire’, leading to ‘a risk of a serious burn injury and/or property damage if the battery overheats and catches fire.
The battery pack is used to charge iPhones 12, 13 and 14 through the magnetic charging port on the back of the phone.

The Comsol Pty Ltd 10000mAh 20W USB-A & USB-C magnetic wireless power bank (pictured) was recalled on Wednesday morning with those who own one urged to return it for a full refund
The charger was sold by Officeworks in stores and digitally nation-wide between March 7 and August 18.
The consumer watchdog urged those with the power bank to search the product for the part code ‘WMPB10A’ on the back of the product.
Those who own the product have been urged to stop using it immediately and to return it to the nearest available Officeworks for a full refund.
