Troopers find 165 pounds of cocaine worth $6.3 MILLION during traffic stop on Ohio Turnpike

Highway patrol troopers have discovered $6.3million worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike.

Larbi Benkaddour, 46, was arrested after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered 165 pounds of cocaine in his rented 2018 Chrysler 300. 

Benkaddour, who is from Quebec, was charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, which are both first-degree felonies.

He faces up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine if convicted. 

Troopers stopped Benkaddour near Toledo on July 31 around 11.17am after observing several marked lanes violations. 

They pulled over the Chrysler, which had a California registration, and a drug-sniffing K9 alerted officers to the vehicle. 

A probable cause search revealed hundreds of pounds of cocaine wrapped up and stuffed inside two gym bags.
