OJ Simpson dresses in old football gear for Halloween

OJ Simpson proved to be a real treat on Tuesday night as he celebrated Halloween by handing out candy, photos and even autographs to neighbors in his Las Vegas neighborhood.

The 71-year-old felon seemed to be having just as much fun as his visitors too and was seen smiling as he greeted each new group, just one month after he was released from Lovelock Correctional Center.

He even dressed up for the evening as a ghost of sorts, dressing as his former self by throwing on his old ’32’ jersey from the Buffalo Bills.

Simpson was unable to keep the illusion of youth alive for too long sadly, as he had to toss on reading glasses to sign one young boy’s football.

Simpson remains the last player to have worn the number ’32’ for the Bills, and while it has been 40 years since the running back retired in 1977, he was still able to by a new jersey for the night.

It was not an official jersey however, as the Bills organization stopped selling those long ago and a search of the team’s website reveals that no Simpson team gear can be purchased online.

That might explain why Simpson, knowing he would be photographed, opted to wear the shirt and drum up some interest – and income.

Simpson’s glory-days costume choice did not come out until later in the night on Tuesday, which also suggests that Simpson might have been heading off to a costume party later that evening.

And there is a chance as well that Simpson just likes to wear a knockoff ’32’ jersey around the house.

He was photographed at the start of the evening wearing his standard uniform of golf shirt, shorts and a visor.

Simpson was not on candy duty very long, with the former athlete opting to leave a bowl outside the door and only venturing out a few times over the course of the night.

The biggest trick of all meanwhile may have been the fact that he was handing out autographs for free, with Simpson making most of his money in the past two decades from his signature.

It was a bit suspicious however that none of the autograph seekers who came to his door were seen wearing costumes.
