An Oklahoma father has denied shooting dead his 17-year-old daughter’s two dogs to punish her for not doing the dishes, police say.
Jeffery Don Edwards, 35, was jailed late Wednesday night in Harrah, Oklahoma, on complaints of animal cruelty.
The father had reportedly gotten mad at his daughter on Tuesday night for not finishing the dishes or cleaning the house.
Edwards then shot the 17-year-old’s dogs as punishment, investigators have said.
He has since hit back claiming the accusation is ‘a complete lie.’ He said he was at work at the time and declined to comment further.

‘Her father was mad that the house was dirty and was not being cleaned and began throwing dishes,’ an investigator with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office said in a court affidavit obtained by The Oklahoman.
The unnamed daughter then called her mother, who picked her up from Edwards’ home on Tuesday night.
The next morning she returned to the house and found ‘blood all over the place’ and her two dogs, lovable Golden Retriever, Jessica Dawn, and cute Duck, the Blue Heeler Labrador mix, the investigator reported.
The girl’s uncle told her that Edwards had ‘shot her dogs to punish her’.
Dried blood was found in the bed of the daughter’s pickup truck, and investigators followed tire tracks to a wooded area 100 yards southwest of the house, where the dogs were found shot to death.

After the shooting, Edwards is said to have visited a nearby convenience store where he told two employees about killing the dogs.
One employee said Edwards told them ‘his house was dirty and he lost his temper then shot the dogs without remorse,’ investigators said.
The dogs were sent to veterinarians at Oklahoma State University for forensic evaluation.
Edwards, an independent contractor, pleaded guilty in a drive-by shooting case in 2011 and was sentenced to five years probation.
Investigators said they found at least two rifles, a handgun and various ammunition on the property.
He was released Thursday morning on $10,000 bail.
