This is the bizarre moment Oklahoma police say they found radioactive uranium, a rattlesnake, an open bottle of bourbon and a gun during a routine traffic stop.

Two people were arrested after officers found the unusual items in the vehicle on Wednesday morning in Guthrie.

Driver Stephen Jennings, 40, is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, transporting an open container of liquor, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and failure to carry security verification form.

The passenger, convicted felon Rachael Rivera, 30, is charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.

Police body cam showed the moment the pair were approached by officers who opened the back door of the car and found a venomous Timber rattlesnake.

Jennings, who was driving with a suspended license, then tells law enforcement he has a gun in the car, which police then learned was reported stolen.

Guthrie Police Sgt. Anthony Gibbs said: ‘So now he’s got a rattlesnake, a stolen vehicle, firearm, and somebody under arrest.’

A further search discovered open bottle of Kentucky Deluxe next to the firearm and the a canister of radioactive powdered uranium, police say.

The traffic stop was made because the tag was expired, KFOR reports.

Gibbs added: ‘When that happens of course, we call in a company that deals with that specifically and it`s taken safely into possession. The uranium is the wild card in that situation.’

Neither Jennings or Rivera are currently facing charges over the uranium.

Sgt Gibbs said: ‘It happens to be rattlesnake season at the time, so he can be in possession of this rattlesnake because he has a valid lifetime hunting and fishing license.’

‘It was nothing we were concerned of as far as him using it as a weapon of mass destruction,’ Gibbs said. ‘It’s very low radioactivity.’

The pair were both booked at Logan County Jail. They remained there Thursday morning on unspecified bail.
