The lawyers of an uber-rich oligarch, whose daughter killed five pedestrians while speeding, are working on a £1.1million compensation package which could see her avoid jail. 

Nouveau riche wild child Alyona Zaitseva, 20, caused a devastating pile-up after jumping a red light at more than 60mph.

Horrific footage captured the moment the black car with the heiress at the wheel hit bystanders in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. 

She was ordered to be detained for two months amid fears she could flee abroad before a trial, which could see her jailed for ten years.

Now her father Vasily Zaitsev, an energy tycoon, is reported by Vesti Ukraine TV to be ‘negotiating’ with state investigators and families of the victims over substantial payments in compensation.

Citing law enforcement sources, Vesti Ukraine TV quoted a legal expert who suggested the aim of the father’s campaign was to avoid a jail sentence for the sociology student.

‘Unfortunately, money can shut many mouths here,’ said lawyer Ivan Liberman.

‘Both injured people and relatives of the deceased can go to a notary office and sign statements that they received compensation and don’t have any claims against the driver.’

‘Lawyers for this girl student are already ‘working’ with the victims,’ reported Vesti.

They forecast she would be given a suspended sentence, but that her parents would pay a large sum to secure her freedom.

‘In other words, having killed five people, she will go to restaurants, travel abroad and live the same kind of life as she had before,’ said the report.

‘According to the in law enforcement, at the moment the Zaitseva parents are “negotiating” it with the investigation at various levels.

‘They had just come there, they hadn’t stopped,’ she said.

‘Right at that moment, they were there.

‘If only they had two more second, they would have been alive.’

Of Ms Zaitseva she said: ‘I have no grudge against her. I am not thinking about her at all.’

At another funeral, 27 year old IT specialist Alexander Evteev was buried.

His wife Oksana, 27, and her sister Diana, 20, survived but they are in a grave condition in hospital.

Oksana has emerged from a coma but has not been told that her husband is dead.

His uncle Vladimir Timoshenko demanded the ‘toughest penalty’ for the driver who he claimed were part of a ‘golden youth’ who no-one curbs.

‘Youngsters in expensive cars – no-one is controlling them,’ he complained. 

In a court appearance she wore Ceinture Ankle Boots by luxury Spanish brand Balenciaga costing around £1055 a pair, some five times the average monthly salary in impoverished Ukraine.
