Olivia Munn offered a tongue-in-cheek toast to men on Thursday while hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California.
The 37-year-old actress was joined by Niecy Nash, 47, for a Toast To The Good Guys segment at the awards ceremony held at the Barker Hanger.
The ironic toast was made in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal that rocked Hollywood.
Toast roast: Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash made a Toast To The Good Guys on Thursday during the Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California
‘We’d like to make a toast to all the good guys in Hollywood,’ Olivia started as she thanked Hollywood executives who held meetings in hotel conference rooms instead of bedrooms.
Niecy offered a toast to ‘male casting directors who never said anything derogatory’.
‘Hey, way to be regular human beings, guys! Good job,’ Olivia deadpanned.
Niecy then offered another toast saying, ‘Thank you to all the men for speaking up at the Golden Globes’.
Hosting debut: The 37-year-old actress made her debut as an awards show host
‘They didn’t actually say much there,’ Olivia interjected about the awards ceremony on Sunday in Beverly Hills, California.
Olivia then said, ‘I do want to say thank you to the producers for paying Niecy and I the same amount of money and Mark Wahlberg a million bucks’.
‘Say what?,’ Niecy said.
Pay disparity: Olivia and Niecy mocked the pay disparity in Hollywood
Moms too: Niecy and Olivia also toasted the mothers of the good guys out there
‘I know, he took a pay cut. It was really nice and generous of him. Thank you so much,’ Olivia said.
Olivia then offered another toast ‘to all the mommas that raise them. To you, too’.
The actresses were referencing the recent revelation that Wahlberg was paid over 1,000 times more than co-star Michelle Williams for reshoots on All The Money In The World.
Opening monologue: Olivia opened the show pointing out Hollywood stars in the audience at Barker Hangar
Designer outfit: The Oklahoma native wore a floral print ensemble from the Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection while toasting ‘The Good Guys’
Outfit change: The host during the awards ceremony later changed into a short colorful dress
Upon arrival: Olivia arrived at the awards ceremony in a long red dress
The film’s director Ridley Scott did extensive reshoots of the film to replace Kevin Spacey who was accused of sexual harassment and assault amid the Weinstein fallout.
Olivia started the show giving a birthday shout-out and rapping as she made her debut as an awards show host.
The actress in a long-sleeved white polka dot gown welcomed the Hollywood luminaries in attendance at the event.
Gorgeous gown: The Newsroom star wore a long white polka dot gown to start the show
She called out Guillermo Del Tor, Gal Gadot, Angelina Jolie, Christopher Nolan, her ‘former boss’ Aaron Sorkin and Jessica Chastain in the crowd.
‘We have a birthday girl in the house Mary J. Blige. She also got her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame today. So happy happy birthday,’ Olivia said.
She also asked for applause for the critics in the audience.
‘I know a lot of people say they don’t care what critics say, but I do,’ Olivia admitted.
‘You deserve a big musical number to open your awards show. So get ready for confetti, a gospel choir and Jay Pharoah’.
Backup plan: Jay Pharaoh joined Olivia on stage at the start of the show
Former Saturday Night Live star Jay, 30, then joined Olivia onstage and told her: ‘We don’t have none of that, go to plan B’.
Jay then revealed that the backup plan was for both of them to rap.
A keytar electronic keyboard was slung over Olivia who told Jay: ‘I don’t rap’.
Rap time: Olivia and Jay as part of the backup plan both rapped
Jay started with a smooth rap and then handed off to Olivia.
‘Yeah to the critics, some of you might be arthritics, hope you’re not anti-Semitic and definitely not syphillitc because that kills people,’ Olivia rapped.
‘Bars. Bam,’ Jay said after her rap.
High praise: Jay said ‘bars’ after Olivia’s rap
‘Why are you saying bars,’ Olivia asked.
‘That’s what black people say when something is dope. Welcome to the community,’ Jay said.
Olivia then handed things off to Jay to present the first award for Best Comedy Movie.
Fan favorite: Olivia has been a fan favorite since co-hosting Attack of the Show! in 2006
The Newsroom star later wore a bright red cap and white bonnet as she shouted out to The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss to sign her headwear.
Elisabeth, 35, laughed from her seat in the audience.
The critics awarded Elisabeth with Best Actress in a Drama Series for her work in The Handmaid’s Tale.
Good one: Olivia wore a red cape and bonnet and asked The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss to sign her headwear
Hit show: The host had fun with her The Handmaid’s Tale costume
Olivia also poked fun at the critically acclaimed black comedy I, Tonya starring Best Actress winner Margot Robbie, 27, as figure skater Tonya Harding.
She took part in a spoof trailer showing her as Tonya’s skating rival Nancy Kerrigan for the fictional movie I, Nancy.
Olivia wore a white ice-skating outfit and had her dark hair pulled back while portraying Nancy who was the victim of a 1994 attack ahead of the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Spoof trailer: Olivia also took part in a spoof trailer for I, Nancy that played off the black comedy I, Tony starring Best Actress winner Margot Robbie
Ice skater: The actress took on the role of Nancy Kerrigan in the trailer
Brutal attack: The trailer featured Nancy who was the victim of a brutal attack ahead of the 1994 Winter Olympics
That’s funny: I, Tonya star and Best Actress winner Margot Robbie laughed at the spoof trailer
Nancy took to Twitter and gave her approval as she posted: ‘Loved @oliviamunn. She can play me anytime.’
The Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced on January 3 that Munn would host their annual gala.
Olivia can be seen later this year on the big screen in Ocean’s 8, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Dick Move.
Loved it: Nancy took to Twitter and said that Olivia could play her anytime
