Olly Murs has tweeted his confusion after being caught up in the Oxford Circus evacuation.
The singer wrote that he was ‘safe’ after believing gunshots were fired in Selfridges department store amid reports of shots being fired.
The former X Factor contestant, 33, shared a string of panicked tweets from the sprawling department store during an incident on Friday evening.
Taking to Twitter, he originally wrote: ‘F**k everyone get out of @selfridges now gun shots!! I’m inside.’
Following the post some seven minutes later, the singer claimed he could hear screams as shoppers surged out onto the street.
He wrote: ‘Really not sure what’s happened! I’m in the back office… but people screaming and running towards exits!
‘Evacuating store now!!! F**k heart is pounding!’

The area was in lockdown and comes on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Greg Bird told MailOnline he was sat outside a coffee shop near Oxford Circus station when he saw ‘about 50 people sprinting around the corner and screaming’.
He left the scene and is unsure what is happening now but said armed police are still heading towards the station.
British Transport Police said: “Officers are responding to reports of an incident at Oxford Circus station. Officers are on scene, more information when we get it.”
Transport for London said on Twitter: “Oxford Circus Station is closed while we investigate a customer incident.’
