Tensions reached boiling point during Sunday’s shock episode of The Amazing Race, when Olympian Ian Thorpe clashed with Married At First Sight bride Cyrell Paule.
The heated encounter came after Cyrell, 35, overheard Thorpe’s teammate Christian Miranda complain that she was ‘following’ them during a challenge.
Paule, who has earned the nickname Cyclone Cyrell due to her fiery temper, confronted the best mates and demanded to know if they were gossiping about her.
‘Were you having a dig before Christian, about us following you?’ Cyrell and her partner Eden Dally demanded, to which Christian responded he didn’t know what she was talking about.
‘I’m talking about you being a smart a**e, that’s what I’m talking about,’ a furious Cyrell shot back.
Ian and his friend then attempted to defuse the situation by telling their enraged co-star ‘we are not on MAFS’ and asked her to keep the personal attacks out of it.
However, this only enraged Cyrell even more, who told them: ‘Yeah, and you ain’t swimming right now either. Christaian, you’re known as Ian Thorpe’s friend.
‘You’re only his mate, a sidekick. Maybe when you don’t know nothing you keep your mouth shut, that’s what you should do.’

Thorpe later told the camera he wanted to keep the clashes to a minimum during his stint on the show, so he could focus on the challenges at hand.
‘If I’m competing in something, I’m focused on how I can deliver the best result. I can block people out.
‘It’s rubbish,’ Ian said.

Fortunately, Ian doesn’t have to worry about clashing with Cyrell or Eden on the show anymore, as the reality star couple were eliminated from The Amazing Race later that episode.
Ian and his childhood friend Christian are competing for youth mental health service ReachOut Australia on the celebrity edition of the Channel Ten reality series.
They are still going up against stars Peter Helliar, Jett Kenny, Billy Brownless and others for a grand prize of $100,000 to go to the winner’s chosen charity.
