Olympics Breakfast Briefing with SIR STEVE REDGRAVE: Dina Asher-Smith, Max Whitlock, and Tom Pidcock all have medal hopes as Team GB look to build on magnificent Friday

Great Britain had their best haul of the Olympics on Friday as they somersaulted, jumped, and oared their way to three gold medals.

Bryony Page saw gold for a stunning trampoline routine while the equestrian jumping team galloped to the top of the podium.

But that was not all as lightweight women’s double sculls duo Emily Craig and Imogen Grant finally got their ultimate prize – after missing out on a medal by 0.01 seconds three years ago.

In this morning’s Olympics Breakfast Briefing, Sir Steve Redgrave issues a rallying cry for a jam-packed day eight in Paris.

Our first medal hope will be at 9am in the dressage team Grand Prix Special as Britain look to build on yesterday’s jumping success.

Great Britain have three contenders in the women’s 100m, which will kick off with the semis at 6.50pm before the final at 8.20pm.

We’ve got Dina Asher-Smith, Imani Lansiquot, and Daryll Neita all lining up for that, with five medals between them in the relay over the years but no gold.

Meanwhile, Max Whitlock is bowing out of the Olympics in the men’s pommel horse final at 4.16pm. He won gold in Rio and Tokyo and is already the most decorated Olympian in his field, but can he defend his title for a glorious swansong?

Redgrave also looks forward to the last of the rowing action, with both the women’s and men’s teams in the eight’s finals this morning. Can they add to our successes on the water so far?

Meanwhile, in the cycling, Tom Pidcock is aiming for another gold medal after his cross-country heroics, this time in the men’s road race at 10am alongside Josh Tarling, Stephen Williams, and Fred Wright.

Elsewhere, Jake Jarman and Luke Whitehouse compete in the men’s floor exercise final at 2.30pm, Emma Wilson goes for gold in the women’s windsurfing final after yesterday’s postponement, and team GB are in the 4 x 400m relay running mixed final.

Also, look out for finals in the pool tonight – Abbie Wood in the women’s 200m individual medley final as well as the mixed 4 x 100m medley relay final team.

There are a glut of other sports with no medals up for grabs today including the men’s boxing quarter-finals, women’s hockey, and men’s archery.

Mail Sport and The National Lottery have teamed up to bring you exclusive video content from our greatest Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave each day during the Olympic Games in Paris.

Sir Steve won five Gold medals in an illustrious career and is considered by many to be our greatest Olympic hero. Back in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics, Team GB only won one gold medal – and Steve alongside Matthew Pinsent delivered it for the nation.

This was in an era before National Lottery funding was introduced which has transformed the fortunes of our British athletes. Thanks to National Lottery players, Team GB is now a superpower on the world stage winning 22 Golds and 64 medals at the last Olympics in Tokyo.
