A five-year-old YouTube star has come in as number three on the streaming site’s top earners by making $18 million per year, according to Forbes.

Anastasia Radzinskaya from Russia, who goes by Nastya or Stacy for her viewers, beat out fellow YouTubers like makeup guru Jeffree Star and video gamer PewDiePie, real name Felix Kjellberg, to be number three as YouTube’s top earners.

The child first got her start on YouTube after her parents shared videos of her treatments after she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and they slowly started to gain more and more views.

What has helped her videos grow in popularity is a majority of them rely on sounds instead of words, appealing to a broader audience.

The videos also are translated into seven different languages for the minimal amount of words spoken.

This has helped the youngster garner an astounding $18 million in just one year with 107 subscribers total across all platforms, only getting beaten out by Dude Perfect at $20 million and eight-year-old Ryan Kaji at $26 million.

Since Radzinskaya’s YouTube career has taken off, the youngster moved to Boca Raton, Florida, with her parents.

She also has six-figure sponsorship deals with both Dannon and Legoland, according to Forbes, helping the child further cash in on her popularity from her fledgling YouTube career.

But her success could taper off in the following years.

YouTube is currently working with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to limit the revenue possibilities for children-focused channels. According to the FTC, these channels have potentially violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act rule.

Now YouTube will ban ads targeted on kids’ content starting next year, which will diminish the revenue brought in from people running those channels.

Radzinskaya will not be the only YouTuber to take a hit in earnings with the new rules in place.

Kaji, who ranked number one on the list for the second year in a row, will also suffer a loss in revenue.

The youngster garnered his following at the young age of three by filming himself reviewing popular kids toys. His videos have now grown in content to include science experiments he performs for his viewers.

Kaji also earns money through his show on Nickelodeon and a deal through the streaming service Hulu.

But he could face a decline in earnings from a lawsuit against his channel run by his parents, Shion Guan and his 35-year-old wife Kieu-Loan, claiming it is not clear to his viewers that the toys he reviews are branded content.

In a complaint filed to the FTC, consumer watchdog Truth In Advertising accused Ryan of not clearly disclosing paid sponsorship from brands such as Walmart. They say that 90 per cent of the family’s videos include a paid-for product but that they do not always label them as such.

It still remains unclear the exact hit to earnings children-focused accounts will face in the coming years on the streaming service.
