Handing in your notice is nothing short of awkward, but these ex-employees have found cheeky ways to inject a little fun into their resignation.  

A hilarious gallery compiled by BoredPanda, has revealed some of the most creative ways disgruntled workers have left their jobs.

Guaranteeing they are remembered long after they’ve gone, several people found rather passive aggressive methods of parting ways with an employer.

After being fired one roadside worker was less than polite when it came to changing a road notice, meanwhile another remarked in his automatic replies that he doesn’t ‘plan to return’.

Elsewhere others were not as bitter in their departure, leaving amusing gifts for their former employer.  

One let his boss know he would be pursuing a career in baking by icing his resignation on a cake, while another helpfully wrote a farewell note on a bottle of whiskey.
