oogle Camp preparations underway at luxury Sicilian resort as billionaires set their yachts sail

This is the lavish resort where celebrities, captains of industry, web chiefs and even a few royals will gather starting Sunday for the sixth annual Google Camp.

Billionaires including David Geffen, Barry Diller, George Lucas and Google founders Sergey brin and Larry Page are all heading to Sicily this weekend to the Vedura Resort.

Dailymail.com went inside the resort, tucked away in a private enclave of the Sicilian coast, to see the perks and amenities that would be offer to the likes of Bob Iger, Barry Diller and Diane von Fursteneberg, and the newly-engaged Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner.

Google Camp guests are encouraged to bring their families, just like at the Allen & Company conference in Idaho that runs a few weeks prior, and there is no shortage of activities.

The resort boasts two 18-hole golf courses, a tennis academy and one of the largest spa complexes in all of Europe on its over one mile of private coastline.

There are a number of suites and private rooms as well as three villas for guests to stay after arriving by sea or air in a helicopter.

Those villas look out on to individual pools as well as the property’s massive infinity pool and stunning private beach, filled with imported white sand, a jetty and even a small carpet to take pampered stars into the crystal blue ocean waters.

There is also a dock for all the yachts expected to descend upon the resort, with Geffen currently setting course from Portofino.

Luxury mega yacht the Azteca, which last year hosted Elton John while he was at the conference, has already been spotted moored on the private beach.

The $80 million yacht had its slide out and seemed ready for action ahead of the arrival of guests, who in the past have included Prince Harry, Emma Watson and steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.

It is not clear is any of those guests will be back this year, but once source believes the arrival of the Azteca could be a sign.

‘Elton was on the yacht with the detached slide last year, so if that’s been spotted then maybe he’s coming back to see us again,’ the source told DailyMail.com

‘Google Camp is a real Who’s Who of the biggest names in showbusiness.’

That source went on to say: ‘All the hotel staff and security have to sign non-disclosure agreements and it’s an incredibly secure complex so no one can reveal anything about what goes on behind closed doors. It’s an annual event here so it’s more than their job’s worth.’

A security guard confirmed that he also couldn’t say anything about what activities would be taking place, while local fishermen told how they’re not allowed to go anywhere near the private beach. Local police officers checked all passengers’ details and moved on cars parked nearby.

But there were signs that there will be a huge party for those lucky enough to be invited, with a fleet of lorries moving what looked like outdoor live music equipment into the gated and manned palatial grounds.

There were also buses to herd guests around, and the helicopter pad looked ready for landings.

Google’s billionaire founders hold the opulent event set in a valley of olive groves close to Sciacca on the island of Sicily, inviting the world’s wealthiest business leaders and tech gurus to discuss issues such as human rights and the internet.

After morning sessions, afternoons are free for guests to relax around the complex and spa, with trips around the coast, to local wineries and to tourist hot spots on offer.

On the final night, Google spends close to $100,000 renting the 2,500-year-old Valley of the Temples ruins for a concert and sit-down meal, with Elton John and Lenny Kravitz performing there last summer.

Details are scarce about this year’s event, which will be held in the Greek ruins of Selinunte on the island, as the itinerary for guests is hidden away on a password-protected webpage.

It is also urged that no one post on social media, though last year Geffen did post a pic of guests on his yacht, including Oprah Winfrey, Diane Sawyer and Dasha Zhukova.
