Oppenheimer star Emma Dumont has come out as trans masculine and non-binary and revealed the new name their family is calling them by.
The star, 30, made the revelation on their Instagram profile, changing their bio to add in ‘they/them’ pronouns instead of ‘she/her.’
‘They identify as a trans masculine non-binary person,’ a representative for Dumont — who previously shared the screen with Rumer Willis in a flirty role — said in a statement with TMZ.
The rep also shared Dumont will keep their name for work, but in their personal life will go with a masculine name.
‘Their work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family.’
The star also updated their bio with the new name, adding ‘Nick Dumont’ to their profile.

Despite recent social media activity, Dumont — born Emma Noelle Roberts — has not publicly addressed their coming out.
The star’s latest Instagram posts signal a significant shift from their glamorous red carpet image.
In May, Dumont debuted a bold, short, choppy haircut – a departure from their usual long, straight hair.
‘Nice, new era,’ a fan commented on the change at the time.
Dumont has also embraced a more casual style, as seen in their Tuesday post, where they’re rocking t-shirts and sunglasses.
Dumont gained international recognition last year for their performance in the Oscar winning movie Oppenheimer, where they starred alongside Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and Florence Pugh.
The Christopher Nolan film chronicles the life of Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist, also known as the father of the atomic bomb.
Dumont starred as Oppenheimer’s sister-in-law Jackie.

The film won numerous Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Peaky Blinders star Murphy, for his portrayal of Oppenheimer.
Dumont is also known for their role in FOX’s The Gifted, a drama series following a suburban family whose children develop mutant powers.
Set in an alternate X-Men timeline, the show features Dumont as Polaris, Magneto’s daughter, who struggles with bipolar disorder.
The Gifted premiered in 2017, but was cancelled after its second season in 2019.
Dumont is next set to star in the horror film New Me, as Andriana. The plot follows a young mother as she peels back the layers of forgotten trauma in order to emotionally connect with her baby and husband, but pays a terrible price.
There is no release date for the film yet.
Dumont’s acting credits also include NBC’s 60s-era drama Aquarius, where they portrayed Emma Karn, a devoted follower of Charles Manson.
They also starred in ABC Family’s dance series Bunheads as Melanie.
Their other notable credits include What Lies Ahead, where they starred alongside Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer, ABC’s Mind Games, AwesomenessTV’s T@gged, Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars and The Fosters, and SYFY’s The Magicians.

Born in Seattle, Dumont’s early passions included ballet, violin, and modeling.
Their biggest passion was acting, leading them to roles in both indie films and television series in their teens.
Beyond acting and the arts, Dumont is also passionate about mechanical engineering and computer programming.
A Mensa member and former participant in FIRST Robotics, they continue to mentor young people in the program.
