It’s traditional to give someone a cake on their birthday but one restaurant has come up with a much greasier alternative.
Orange Buffalo, in central London, has created a birthday treat made entirely out of chicken wings for anyone celebrating their special day who prefers savoury to sweet.
And if the chicken lover brings 10 friends, it’s free.

Though it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, those willing to swap a traditional iced cake for a mound of chicken will receive a cake stand piled high with wings smothered in orange sauce at the restaurant, which is based at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen in Shoreditch.
Complete with candles on top, the birthday platter also comes with a round of spicy shots: alcohol infused with hot sauce.
The £18 birthday platter comes with dips and four shots that are infused with hot sauce
Flavours include ‘Mango No.5 with Cointreau’ the ‘Flaming Coconut with Koko Kanu’, and classic Buffalo Sauce infused with Wray & Nephew Rum.
For those who can really take the heat, the restaurant also sells a Snake On The Brain shot that contains Sambuca, Amarula, Viper Sauce and Grenadine.
The birthday chicken wing ‘cake’ is free if diners pre-book a table for 10 or more people.
Otherwise, the very unusual celebratory treat is £18.
