A mother has been arrested for manslaughter after she tortured her son and likely ‘beat him to death with a toilet seat’.

Victoria Toth, 24, from Orlando, Florida, was arrested for the death of her two-year-old son.

Jacye Martin died from from blunt force trauma to the abdomen described as a ‘sucker punch’ which caused his insides to ‘explode’, WFTV reports.

Jacye Martin was malnourished and bruised when police found his body lying unresponsive in his bedroom in apartments in Washington Shores neighbourhood, Orlando.

An arrest report found that Jacye’s death could have been prevented if he had been seen by a doctor.

Doctors described Toth’s behaviour as ‘torture’.

Police found a ‘broken toilet lid and broken toilet seat’ in the bathroom in Jacye’s bedroom. The toilet lid and seat appeared to be clean which indicated a ‘recent struggle or fight.’

There were also fist-sized holes in the walls, according to police.

The arrest report shows that Toth found Jayce not breathing when she came home from work. Her boyfriend, Johnathan Pursglove, had been looking after the child at their home.

However investigators believe that Toth sat in the house for days as he slipped into a coma because she was ‘scared of getting into trouble’.

Jacye’s father, Robert Martin, said he was devastated and heartbroken.

He told WFTV: ‘He always had a bright smile on his face. He could brighten up a room with his smile, with his laugh. His laugh was so distinct, it was so cute. It was adorable.’

Toth is charged with manslaughter of a child.
