Kate Winslet has always fiercely guarded her family’s privacy, with her husband even taking out an injunction to stop pictures of himself in fancy dress being published.

But now the Oscar-winner is welcoming movie cameras into her West Sussex home for her next film.

The £3.25million beachside house in West Wittering will be the location for Blackbird, a remake of Danish drama Silent Heart, in which a dying woman’s family gather to say farewell.

The 42-year-old star lives in the 17th Century eight-bedroom house with her third husband, Ned Rocknroll, nephew of Sir Richard Branson, with whom she has a son, Bear, four.

She also has a daughter Mia, 17, from her first marriage to assistant director Jim Threapleton and a son, Joe, 14, by James Bond director Sam Mendes.

Ms Winslet has always drawn a veil over her private life, saying: ‘No one really knows what has happened in my life.

‘No one knows why my first marriage didn’t last; no one knows why my second didn’t. I’m proud of those silences.’

A source said: ‘Kate wants to stay close to home for the sake of her family. She’s been joking about how she won’t have to go to work – work will come to her.’

In 2013, Mr Rocknroll won a High Court battle banning photographs of him semi-naked in fancy dress from being published.

He and Ms Winslet claimed the pictures could cause her children to be bullied at school.

Ms Winslet’s publicist failed to respond to requests for comment.
