Overweight bride drops 6 stone in SIX MONTHS

A bride-to-be has dropped a staggering 6 stone in six months, enabling her to fit into her wedding dress.

At 16 stone 9 lbs project manager Leah Jones, 38, from London feared she wouldn’t be able to fit into her dream gown before she dramatically overhauled her diet, shedding over a third of her body weight and five dress sizes in record time.

Leah, who also works as an actress, was also growing increasingly self-conscious of her size 18 frame and worried she would be typecast in ‘bigger’ roles at work.

Leah said: ‘Before I lost the weight, I found myself quite depressed with my weight playing a big part in my mood swings and resulting in my relationship suffering.

Leah now, weighing 10 stone 2 lbs

‘I felt like people would look at my partner and think “what is he doing with her” which made me constantly feel like I wasn’t good enough.

‘My weight would be the first and last thing I’d think about when getting in and out of bed. Even choosing clothes was a stressful and disheartening daily struggle and I’d often find myself running late for work due to not being able to find suitable clothing.’

Leah says she realised she needed to lose the weight so that her ‘unhealthy relationship with food’ wouldn’t rub off on her four-year-old son – spurring her on to join LighterLife Dartford (lighterlife.com) in April 2016

Speaking about her svelte new figure, Leah said: 'This is the slimmest I have been in my life. As a family our days out no longer revolve around food, instead you’ll find us at the local swimming pool'

Joining the weight loss plan helped Leah to ‘unravel’ the reasons behind her urge to reach for food, and she also learned some cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques.
