OzLotto winner comes forward to claim prize

A woman has revealed she ‘screamed with glee’ after finding out she had won a whopping $1.6million in a lottery draw.

The woman, from the small town of Gayndah in Queensland’s North Burnett Region, became an instant millionaire over the weekend.

She awoke on Sunday to the happy news that she was one of three division one entries in Saturday’s Gold Lotto Draw 4371.

The lucky woman pocketed a total of $1,691,043, and revealed she spent the day ‘doing absolutely nothing’ after her major win was confirmed.

‘Oh, my God! Thank you! I really needed some confirmation,’ she said when an official from The Lott called to confirm her massive windfall. 

‘I discovered my win on Sunday morning and spent the day doing absolutely nothing because I was so stunned.

‘It’s not something that’s very easy to comprehend.’

The Queenslander admitted she had been through some tough times recently, but the win had made it all worthwhile.

She intends to put some of the money towards a new shed to house her car.

‘I can’t get over it! You never expect anything like this to happen to you,’ she said.

‘I’ll be heading out to try and find a shed now! How exciting!’

The winner purchased her winning 24-game QuickPick entry at the Gayndah Newsagency.

Gayndah Newsagency team member Renee McGilvery said the whole team was blown away by the win.

‘We can’t believe it! It’s fantastic to know we played a part in changing the life of one of our customers,’ she said.

‘We’ll be celebrating all week and for quite some time to follow, I reckon.’

The winning numbers in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4371 on June 10, 2023, were 42, 23, 43, 12, 2 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 44.
