• Jordan Love had an extremely strong debut season as the Packers’ starters
  • He’s now looking for a payday before the 2024 NFL season kicks off

Packers quarterback Jordan Love is refusing to practice until he gets a new contract, Green Bay GM Brian Gutekunst told reporters.

The team’s training camp started on Monday, with Green Bay beginning to gear up for next season after a promising 2023.

However, Love is not suiting up for practice – though he is reportedly participating in other team activities (such as meetings) and arrived to the facility on time, per The Athletic’s Diana Russini.

Russini added that the Packers and Love’s representatives ‘have had plenty of conversations,’ with the talks being described as ‘positive.’

Gutekunst echoed that sentiment, telling reporters that he felt a deal was ‘close.’

Love, a 2020 first-round pick, was a massive success last year in his first season as a starter.

The quarterback threw for 4,159 passing yards 32 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions as the Packers fairly seamlessly moved on from Aaron Rodgers under center.

Green Bay went 9-8 in the regular season before making an unexpected run to the divisional round of the postseason after beating the Cowboys 48-32 on the road.
