  • Realizing he couldn’t match the 311-pound Bakhtiari, Rodgers put one finger in the air to buy more time for himself before conceding defeat

  • Later Milwaukee Brewers star and reigning National League MVP Christian Yelich was seen on the scoreboard easily chugging an entire beer alongside Bakhtiari
  • Kelly Stafford, the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, posted a video of her husband on Instagram in which he easily chugged his own beer

Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers may be the face of Wisconsin sports, but he was still embarrassed by an All-Pro teammate, the reigning National League MVP, and a rival NFL quarterback after failing to chug a beer at a Milwaukee Bucks playoff game on Thursday night.

Seated alongside Bucks co-owner Wes Edens’s daughter Mallory during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final, Rodgers was challenged by Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari, who was seen on the Bucks’ scoreboard gulping down two beers only seconds earlier.

Bakhtiari then pointed from his front-row seat across the court to Rodgers, who quickly accepted the challenge.

But, after realizing he couldn’t match his 311-pound teammate’s pace, Rodgers slowly lifted one finger in the air to buy more time for himself. Then, conceding defeat, the former NFL MVP lowered the beer from his face and shook his head ‘no.’

Rodgers was referred to in the TV caption as ‘Game of Thrones extra & NFL MVP’ – a cheeky nod to his surprise spot among the 400-strong crowd in the penultimate episode of the HBO hit.

Bakhtiari then punctuated the exchange by chugging one more beer and mouthing ‘Let’s Go’ to the camera.

Fans immediately began jeering Rodgers, perhaps because Milwaukee is so closely identified with the Blatz, Pabst, Schlitz, and Miller breweries.

Further salt was added to Rodgers’s wound over the course of the evening.

Not only did the Bucks lose Game 5 to the Toronto Raptors, falling behind in the series 3-2, but Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich was seen on the scoreboard easily chugging an entire beer alongside Bakhtiari.

And when the 2018 N.L. MVP was done, Bakhtiari accepted a challenge from a fan wearing a replica of his own Packers jersey, and both summarily polished off another round.

Rodgers, who is actually a minority owner of the Bucks, was still not done being embarrassed.

(Kelly Stafford recently made news after undergoing brain surgery to have a tumor removed)

At time of publication, it was still not clear if Rodgers ever finished that beer.
