Paralympic gold medallist Dylan Alcott has detailed the night a jovial fan caused a serious injury to his hand.

A story appearing in his book, as detailed by The Sydney Morning Herald, the 27-year-old says he encountered a fan who ‘had a few drinks under his belt’ at a function.

The person attempted to pick up Dylan’s wheelchair, causing him to tumble to the floor and onto broken glass.

‘Immediately, blood gushed everywhere, and as I looked at my hand, blood spurted into my eye. It fast looked like a crime scene,’ he wrote.

He added: ‘It never fully recovered, and to this day I have significant nerve damage in my hand’.

The athlete also detailed meeting Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Sydney in October.

‘I just treated him like a normal bloke and he loved it,’ Dylan said.

As a famous tennis player in his own right, Dylan worships the master of the game – Roger Federer.

And the three-time Paralympic gold medallist has now recalled the memorable moment he first came face-to-face with his idol.

Speaking on Andrew Denton’s Interview in July, he revealed he met the Swiss legend completely naked in a locker room.

Dylan humorously stated: ‘I got to play my first Australian Open and I went into the locker room… I put my tennis bag in (the locker).

‘I get my racquet out and then standing there, completely naked, basically with his penis on my shoulder, is Roger Federer!’

‘He goes, ‘hello I’m Roger’, and I go, ‘hello I’m Dylan!’, and I thought, ‘that’s an interesting way to meet someone you idolise!”

Dylan claimed he can’t remember what they talked about as he was too busy trying to avert his eyes away from a naked Roger.

Being in a wheelchair, Dylan claimed his eyes met directly with the Swiss ace’s manhood.

‘I’m on that level so I was like ‘Eyes up!’, he stated as the audience burst into laughter.
