Paramount+ released a teaser on Thursday for its upcoming exclusive South Park The Streaming Wars special.

The 15-second video showed Cartman sitting with his mother and crying as he tossed a tantrum.

A description for the next animated movie by creators Trey Parker, 52, and Matt Stone, 50, said ‘Cartman locks horns with his mom in a battle of wills while an epic conflict unfolds that threatens South Park’s very existence.’

South Park The Streaming Wars will be released exclusively on Paramount+ on June 1.

Paramount+ also announced that a fourth South Park movie will premiere this summer on the streaming service, according to an article by Deadline.

Parker and Stone last August signed a $900 million deal with ViacomCBS, which rebranded in February as Paramount Global, to continue producing South Park for six more years.

In addition, the duo agreed to create 14 films that will premiere on Paramount+ with The Streaming Wars being the third following Post Covid and Post Covid: Covid Returns.

Parker and Stone also will make a second South Park feature film, as well as produce spin-off content, according to Bloomberg.

Paramount+ has emerged as a formidable rival to Netflix, which was founded in 1997 and introduced streaming media and video on demand in 2007.

The streaming service originally launched in October 2014 as CBS All Access and was buoyed early with the successful 2017 release of Star Trek: Discovery starring Sonequa Martin-Green, 37.

A 10-episode fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery starring Martin-Green as science specialist Michael Burnham was ordered in January and is expected to be released on Paramount+ in 2023.

Paramount+ plus has wide access to Star Trek content and recently released the new series Star Trek: Strange New World.

A third season of the Paramount+ animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks is scheduled for later in 2022 and a fourth season is expected to be released in 2023.
