Parents reveal their baby’s first word is GOOGLE and the tech giant loves it – but not everyone is as impressed

A doting father was shocked to hear that his child’s first word was Google – prompting the tech giants to take notice.
The moment was caught on a Los Angeles couple’s baby monitor and has since gone viral with some people less impressed than others.
The clip shows Joe Pitt, a character designer who has worked for Disney, dancing and singing while holding the toddler and then attempting to use a voice-activated Google device.
He says: ‘Hey Google, play the baddy song’, when his young child chimes in, saying ‘Hey Google’.

Mr Pitt, visibly shocked, then darts towards the mother saying: ‘Clio! She just said Google’.
Clio Chang, a story artist originally from Vancouver, posted the clip on her Twitter account earlier this month.
‘Welps, my baby’s first word is Google,’ she said, tagging the company in her tweet.

The clip has amassed over 187,000 views and over 12,000 likes on Mrs Chang’s account.
One Twitter user, reacting to the clip, said: ‘Google needs to pay for this kid’s college fund.’
A representative of Google did reach out. Marvin Chow, VP of Product Marketing at the company, tweeted Mrs Chang offering to send a gift to the family.

Another user quipped that the clip would be used in adverts for the company while others reacted in apparent dismay.
‘That is going in a commercial right now,’ said Roque Ballesteros.
‘This is a horror story,’ said another person, ‘humanity is doomed’, added another.
Another added: ‘The responses to this and their excitement over the ubiquity of branding – from perhaps the most dystopian company we interact with regularly – makes me want to shoot myself.’
