New parents post advert seeking a photographer to take a ‘tasteful’ final family portrait of them with their two-month-old son and his DECEASED grandfather

  • Bristol couple who posted anonymous ad are hoping to do the shoot tomorrow
  • Their baby, Sam, was named after his grandad, who recently passed away
  • Couple will pay £99 for photographer who will take a picture at the funeral home

A couple have posted an advert desperately seeking a photographer to take a final family portrait of them with their two-month-old son and his recently deceased grandfather.

The Bristol-based couple, who asked to remain anonymous as they are grieving, posted an advert online with the hope a one-hour photoshoot could take place tomorrow.

They told how they named their two-month-old son Sam after his grandfather, but he passed away before they had the chance to get a family photo.

The man’s dad was an avid fan of family photographs and was always keen to be included in activities, so the couple feel obliged to fulfill his wishes.

The bereaved pair are willing to pay £99 for a photographer to take a ‘tasteful’ shot of the family with its oldest and youngest member at the funeral home.

The grandfather will be seated in a chair surrounded by his family for the photo, which is intended as a keepsake for baby Sam.

The advert, shared on the blog of on-demand photography service Perfocal, states that the couple are looking for someone who can fulfil their request with the ‘utmost respect and discretion’.

It explains that it was a Victorian custom for families to take one last family photo together.

Founder Tony Xu said: ‘We deal with a lot of different requests from customers, but this one is definitely one of the more poignant.

‘We’re so used to taking selfies these days, that we often forget to take photos of our families together.

‘In years to come these photos will stand as memories of time spent together, so they are incredibly important.

‘The team really feels for the family and we’re really hoping someone out there will be able to help out, given the tragic circumstances surrounding the request.’
