Paris Jackson admits she is ‘not in a music career’ for money… as she continues to receive $8 million yearly allowance from late father Michael
Paris Jackson has admitted she is ‘not in the music career’ for money, admitting she ‘doesn’t need that’.
The singer, 25, who is the daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, revealed she is more concerned about ‘feeling proud’ of a track, rather than the amount of sales she gets.
Although Michael died with a reported negative bank balance of $500 million, since his death, the family has been reportedly able to earn over $700 million from his music royalties and other commercial ventures. His estate is estimated to be valued at around $1.8 billion.
In addition to this, since his death, Paris and her brothers have received $8 million each year from the late musician’s estate.
The children are also thought to inherit about $2 billion altogether when they reach the age of 33.

But in the meantime, Paris has been writing and recording with veteran rock titan Linda Perry in LA.
She told Grazia that her measure of success is ‘just based off of how I’m feeling’.
She added: ‘How many times can I get three performances in a row that I feel good about? Writing a song that I’m proud of and putting it out. I’m not as caught up on sales. I’m not in this for money.’
Paris continued: ‘That’s why me and Linda get along so well, aside from the fact we’re both women in the industry and have a lot of the same experiences.
‘She is not working with me for money, I am not working with her for money. We don’t need that. We just both love creating art’.
The Lighthouse singer will take the stage for her next big performance at the Hollywood Bowl on October 6.
She will be performing on the same bill with Incubus and Action Bronson.
The singer–songwriter signed her first record deal three years ago.

Since then she has put out an album, Wilted, and an EP, The Lost.
She spoke with People earlier this year about her writing style.
‘My process is just, I come up with a progression that is decent, that isn’t too similar to other ones that I’ve used, and then I hum until I find a good melody. Then the lyrics just kind of happen,’ the artist explained.
‘All of my favorite songwriters are poets, so a lot of them follow the same iambic pentameter and rhyme patterns of standard poetry. So, I think that’s probably where I get it from,’ she said.
Just a few years ago, the musician was releasing music as part of the musical duo The Soundflowers, alongside Gabriel Glenn.
With a stripped down acoustic sound, including Jackson on vocals and a ukulele and Glenn on guitar and vocal, The Soundflowers dropped their first self-titled EP in June 2020.
