Meanwhile, reports emerged that she had refused to wear a gown specially designed by fashion royalty Alex Perry.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Paris was due to wear a red gown, but shocked racing carnival sponsor Myer and the designer when she decided to don another ensemble.

The publication claimed sources close to Myer revealed Paris wasn’t a fan of the dress created for her by the Australian designer.

Paris’s representative has since vehemently denied these claims however, telling Daily Mail Australia: ‘This isn’t true. Paris couldn’t have refused to wear a custom-made Alex Perry design to the Melbourne Cup, as no such dress was ever made.’

‘Paris did wear a piece from Alex’s collection on the cover of Stellar Magazine,’ they explained.

The Sydney Morning Herald has also reported that Paris wanted to wear cowboy boots in the Birdcage but was advised that they weren’t dressy enough for the carnival.
