Sporting director Leonardo is understood to be a known long-term admirer of Allegri, and is open to the idea of the 52-year-old succeeding Tuchel in the Parc des Princes hot seat.

Allegri has attracted several suitors after his superb stint in Turin, which resulted in four domestic doubles and two Champions League finals, and PSG are the latest European giant to be linked with him.

But the Italian tactician hasn’t taken a new role since departing the Allianz Stadium at the end of the last campaign, despite Real Madrid and Manchester United both being touted to have targeted him.

Tuchel has often been criticised for PSG’s failure to progress in Europe, and Juventus are believed to be keen to snap up Allegri in the hope of finally ending their lengthy wait to lift the Champions League.

Allegri remains under contract at Juventus even after his sacking, but the Italian would free himself to take up the reins in the French capital.

And with Tuchel under mounting pressure, Allegri was forced to deny similar reports that he had entered negotiations with PSG earlier this year.

He said: ‘I’m not talking about my future, I am not speaking about my future as I do not know what it holds.

With his willingness to return to management made clear, Allegri’s agent revealed that the former AC Milan coach was eager to work outside of his homeland.

His successor in Turin, Maurizio Sarri, has failed to impress amid rumours of confusion among his players – and Allegri was linked with a sensational return to his former role at the club.
