Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg is compared to Hitler

Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg is being compared to Hitler after various videos emerged online with the Nazi leader’s voice dubbed over footage of the teenager speaking at the March for our Lives rally.

The videos, which have been posted on YouTube and played by Infowars, Breitbart and other far-right media sites, used footage of the 17-year-old speaking to the crowds of protesters in Washington on Saturday.

Hitler’s voice from one of his 1930s rally speeches has been edited into the videos and also features crowds of Nazi supporters cheering.

At the end of his speech on Saturday, Hogg raised his fist in the air and right-wing social media immediately started claiming it resembled Hitler’s Nazi salute.

YouTube put a viewer discretion warning on one of the Hitler comparison videos.

The 56-second video, which was posted on YouTube on Monday by user MAGA3D, was flagged as containing material that some viewers had found to be ‘inappropriate or offensive’.

Viewers trying to watch the video were made to click ‘I understand and wish to proceed’ in order to watch it.

The YouTube user titled the video: ‘Hogg Hitler! The little dictator in the making’.

Far-right conspiracist Alex Jones played one of the videos during his Infowars broadcast on Tuesday.

He described the video as ‘truly frightening historically iconography that you cannot deny these parallels of this youth march’.

Jones later clarified he didn’t believe Hogg was a Nazi but argued that the gun control movement by student activists was similar to Nazi ideology.

He had earlier called the rally a ‘Hitler Youth invasion’ and said Hogg was ‘the chief propagandist in the left-wing fascist Hitler Youth army’.

Hogg has previously been compared to the Nazis by the far-right in the wake of the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last month that left 17 people dead.

Minnesota Republican Rep. Mary Franson compared the teenager to the Hitler Youth in a series of Facebook posts after the March for Our Lives rally.

She later deleted the posts.

An aide to Brooklyn state Sen. Marty Golden was fired on Tuesday after he compared the student protesters to Nazis.

‘Anthony Testaverde is no longer employed by my office. While freedom of speech is a right, that all citizens enjoy, what occurred in this instance was wrong and cannot be tolerated,’ Golden said in a statement.
