Pat McAfee delivers brutal five-word verdict as South Carolina student disastrously misses field goal to lose $120K on College GameDay

Pat McAfee could not believe how bad a South Carolina student performed during a kicking challenge on College GameDay, eliciting a damning five-word response over and over again.

Gamecocks’ sophomore business major Joshua Watson was selected to try the 33-yard attempt, which would have earned him $120,000 if he split the3 uprights.

Also on the line was $60,000 for the Jake Panus Walk-On Football Endowed Scholarship, giving a few non-scholarship South Carolina football players free tuition.

Watson talked a bunch of trash before the attempt, including guaranteeing a successful boot, saying kicking a football is ‘so easy’ and it’s ‘not a sport’, despite never trying it before.

Watson’s attempt went a few yards on the ground before hitting a nearby security guard, while his shoe went flying in the air well off screen. McAfee’s verdict was quick and brutal: ‘Worst kick of all time!’

McAfee also repeated the line ‘this guy sucks’ multiple times while looking right at Watson.

Watson was immediately embarrassed, knowing his colossal failure was on national television, and likely would become the textbook definition of what not to do on College GameDay.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit called how bad the kick was going to be before the attempt saying Watson ‘had no shot’ because of how Cocky he was going into the attempt.

The charitable amount donated going into the kick was raised from $45,000 to $60,000 by famous country singer and South Carolina fan Darius Rucker, who was next to Herbstreit and McAfee for the attempt.

After the kick, McAfee wanted to make sure the lasting image from his kicking segment wasn’t the terrible shank.

‘We will still donate, this kid sucks,’ McAfee said before the cameras shifted back to the other panelists.
