Patrick Mahomes hilariously shuts down Travis Kelce’s attempt to speak at the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs’ White House visit

During the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs’ customary visit to the White House, quarterback Patrick Mahomes hilariously stopped Travis Kelce from speaking.

Shortly after Mahomes and Kelce had posed for a picture with President Joe Biden and his new No. 46 Chiefs jersey, the eight-time Pro Bowler approached the presidential podium and began by saying: ‘So I’ve been waiting for this.’

Before he was able to expand on what he had been waiting to say, Kelce was quickly steered away from the podium and ushered towards his teammates by Mahomes, who then said: ‘I’m sorry. I’m sorry.’

Though it remains unknown what Kelce would have said, it is well known that he is unafraid to make attention-grabbing statements in front of a microphone.

One that grabbed more than it’s fair share of headlines was when he called out Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval during the playoffs this season.

Kelce reprimanded Pureval while holding the Lamar Hunt Trophy in front of Chiefs fans after the AFC Championship game.

‘I got some wise words for that Cincinnati Mayor,’ Kelce told CBS’ NFL commentator Jim Nantz, imitating a Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson catchphrase. ‘Know your role and shut your mouth, ya jabroni.’

In an another interview with CBS’ Tracy Wolfson, Kelce also taunted Bengals fans, including Cincinnati’s mayor, after grabbing the mic’ from Mahomes. In it, he yelled: ‘Burrowhead my a**. It’s Mahomes’ house.’

During the White House visit, Biden also made sure to mention his wife Jill, who is a loyal Eagles fan and ‘Philadelphia girl.’

‘Fortunately, she is overseas right now in the Middle East. She’s a rabid Eagles fan and the way the game ended, I might be in for a rough night,’ Biden said jokingly.

Biden also added that despite Eagles cornerback James Bradberry admitting that the crucial holding penalty against him that allowed the Chiefs to win the game was the proper call, his wife still doesn’t think the call should have been made.

‘If the Kelce family can make it work with Travis and Jason the first two brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl, there’s hope for the rest of us.’

Kansas City was unable to visit the White House when they won Super LIV over the San Francisco 49ers due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, making this visit  long overdue.

Mahomes, Kelce and Co. wore suits for their trip to Washington DC on Monday.

The star quarterback donned a sharp blue suit while tight end Kelce sported a black t-shirt with red jacket, finished off with some shades. The pair presented the President with a Chiefs No. 46 jersey.

The sun was blazing for the Chiefs’ visit and Mahomes was quick to document the occasion, sharing videos and pictures on his Instagram story.

He posted a video of his teammates lining up outside the White House. Chiefs coach Andy Reid could be seen at the front, looking dapper in a suit, complete with red tie and franchise-branded jacket.

Mahomes then took his 5.6 million followers behind the scenes, capturing video inside the White House itself.

He filmed seven of his teammates strutting their stuff down a red carpet with Skyy Moore one of those dancing his way through the building. The group performed the well-known Memphis Grizzlies’ tunnel dance.

Mahomes had taken a selfie alongside fellow quarterback Chad Henne and Moore with kicker Harrison Butker oblivious in the background.
