Paul Pogba has made his first post-Manchester United appearance in a Miami exhibition match featuring an impressive list of names.

The fixture, labelled ‘the beautiful game’, boasted teams of current and retired stars led by Brazil legends Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos respectively.

Pogba will be leaving United upon the expiry of his contract this month and is expected to rejoin Juventus ahead of next season.

The midfielder has not played for United since their 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anflield in April. He missed four games with a calf injury but was not included in the squad when he was fit for the final game of the season.

It was a fitting end to a disappointing six years at Old Trafford for the Frenchman that saw him fail to live up to his hefty price tag.

The 29-year-old midfielder played on Ronaldinho’s side in Miami alongside his former Juventus teammate Paulo Dybala as well as Blaise Matuidi, who plays his domestic football locally for David Beckham’s Inter Miami, and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

Roberto Carlos’ team featured ex-United stars Radamel Falcao and Nani plus World Cup winners Rivaldo and Cafu.

Pogba was in Miami to advertise his new documentary ‘Paul Pogba: The Pogmentary’.

The documentary explores Pogba’s reasoning in leaving Manchester United, and is available to watch on Amazon Prime now.

Pogba has come in for plenty of criticism from fans since clips from the documentary were released, with some labelling him as ‘removed from reality’ and a ‘greedy overrated egomaniac’ after he disclosed information about his contract talks with United.

One section of the documentary shows the Frenchman and his late agent Mino Raiola discussing a contract offer of £300,000-a-week from United last summer.

‘How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing?’ Pogba says. ‘Never seen that.’

‘Playing is all that matters, winning too. My thought process is to show Manchester they shouldn’t have waited this long to offer a contract and to show other clubs that Manchester made a mistake in not offering a contract.’

In another part of the new documentary series, Raiola speaks about the contrast between the Pogba that under-performed for United and the player who won the World Cup with France in 2018.

The agent says: ‘You’re different with the national team. You’re another Pogba with the national team and with Manchester. It’s not normal.

‘The French team gets the real Pogba – the Pogba from Juventus, the Pogba we all love.

‘With Manchester there’s something blocking you. I think it’s very stressful.’
