Paul Rudd says his wife Julie Yaeger ‘would have voted for Keanu Reeves’ instead of him for People’s Sexiest Man Alive

Paul Rudd joked that his wife Julie Yaeger ‘would have voted for Keanu Reeves’ instead of him for People’s Sexiest Man Alive, after he was recently crowned with the annual honor.

The 52-year-old actor spoke Monday with Extra at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square Theater at the premiere of his new film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, in which he plays Mr. Grooberson.

‘She would have voted for Keanu Reeves … come on, he’s Keanu, I’d vote for him!’ Rudd told the outlet.

The latest: Paul Rudd, 52, joked that his wife Julie Yaeger, 53, ‘would have voted for Keanu Reeves’ instead of him for People’s Sexiest Man Alive , after he was recently crowned with the annual honor. The couple was snapped last year in LA

Rudd and Yaeger, a 53-year-old producer, have been married since 2003 and are parents to son Jack, 17, and daughter Darby, 12.

Rudd previously told People that Yaeger ‘was stupefied’ when she learned he was named for the honor.

‘She was very sweet about it,’ he said. ‘After some giggling and shock, she said, “Oh, they got it right.” And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?’

He added of the honor, ‘I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, “What?” This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.’

Rudd and Reeves, 57, have collaborated in the past working on Anyone Can Quantum, a 2016 short film directed by Reeves’ Bill & Ted costar Alex Winter.

In it, Reeves served as narrator while Rudd played against the late Stephen Hawking in a chess game.

The closest Reeves came to the title came in 1994, when he was a finalist alongside fellow actors Hugh Grant and Jim Carrey, but the publication did not name a winner that year.
