Paulina Porizkova has been showing off her incredible figure and toned abs for nearly four decades, so it should come as no surprise that fans are dying to know what the supermodel eats in a day.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum opened up about her daily diet in a new video she posted on Instagram on Wednesday, revealing that she is a fan of the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan beloved by Jennifer Aniston and Kourtney Kardashian.
‘I do the 16:8 diet, which just means basically that you don’t eat for 16 hours and then you eat for eight,’ Porizkova, 54, explained. ‘I generally take it as I eat whatever I want for eight hours because I like food, but I also kind of tend to like more healthy food.’

However, she noted that she listens to her body and isn’t one to ignore a craving, saying: ‘If I need a fried chicken, then I need a fried chicken. It’s just the way it is.’

‘It’s actually really easy,’ she insisted. ‘I did get hungry at first when I first started doing this diet. I’d kind of obsess about food, but then it sort of evens out. Now, I don’t even think about it. In fact, I’m not at all hungry until 16 hours later when I do get hungry.’
Porizkova likes to break her fast with a vegan smoothie from the meal subscription company Splendid Spoon, which offers a mix of smoothies, soups, grain bowls, and wellness shots.

‘Now, this is going to sound like an [advertisement] for this company, which it’s not because I’m not getting paid and they don’t even know I exist,’ she said, noting she pays for her orders herself.
While the company offers a variety of smoothie flavors, the model opted for the blackberry basil version, saying it’s ‘really nice.’
She read a list of the smoothie’s ingredients, which included bananas, blackberries, pea protein, basil, lemon juice, dates, and chia seeds.
Porizkova said that if she is ‘really hungry,’ has ‘been working out,’ or is planning on having a late dinner, she will also eat one of the company’s soups or noodle bowls.

‘They have a whole bunch of stuff. It’s all vegan. It’s really good for you. It’s very healthy,’ she explained, adding that it also ‘tastes good.’
The cover star is fully aware that her meals are a bit light during the day, and there is a reason for that.
‘I do this, so then I could go out to dinner and have whatever I like for dinner — and that includes a glass of wine or a cocktail and dessert,’ she said. ‘This way I don’t feel deprived. It works for me now.
‘It’s obviously individual for everybody,’ she added, ‘but you asked what I did, and so this is what I do.’

Porizkova, who has never had any plastic surgery or cosmetic injections, shares plenty of bikini photos, but she has also made it clear that keeping her body in tip-top shape isn’t easy, nor is it always enjoyable.
WHAT IS THE 16:8 DIET?
The 16:8 diet is a form of intermittent fasting.
Followers of the eating plan fast for 16 hours a day and eat whatever they want in the remaining eight hours, typically between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
This may be more tolerable than the well-known 5:2 diet where followers restrict their calories to 500 to 600 a day for two days a week and then eat as normal for the remaining five days.
In addition to weight loss, 16:8 intermittent fasting is believed to improve blood sugar control, boost brain function, and help us live longer.
Many prefer to eat between noon and 8 p.m. so they only have to fast overnight and in the morning. They will often skip breakfast, but they can still eat lunch and dinner, along with a few snacks.
When you do eat, it is best to opt for healthy options like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and drink water or unsweetened beverages.
Drawbacks of the fasting plan may be that people overindulge in the hours they can eat, leading to weight gain. It can also result in digestive problems over the long-term, as well as hunger, fatigue, and weakness.
In late July, she shared a video of herself cursing while doing a grueling workout with her trainer Judy McCullough Fox, explaining that she is preparing for a ‘top-secret’ project.
Porizkova set the footage to Marvin Gaye’s ‘Mercy, Mercy Me,’ noting in the caption that her choice of song lyrics was ‘entirely intentional.’
She smiled through her workout, but there was a point at the end where she said f**k in frustration.
The clip shows her grinning and baring it as she does a series of pushups using a suspension training rope. The clip then cuts to her doing squats with a kettlebell, a smile still on her face.
However, she loses her cool while doing dumbbell rows in a plank, and an expletive comes flying out of her mouth.
Porizkova explained in the caption that she meets with McCullough Fox whenever she is staying in her second home in upstate New York.
‘In NYC I do my @nofarmethod Pilates, in the country over the summer I’ll bike and work out with Judy,’ she said.
‘She’s not only super knowledgeable and designs my workouts around my stupid hips, (stupid arthritis!) but she also has a great sense of humor.’

‘At fifty-six, staying in shape takes work! I try to exercise at least 3-5 days a week. And you know what? I frickin hate it,’ she admitted in an Instagram post over the summer.
‘I don’t like to sweat and huff and puff and hurt. If sitting on a couch, eating cake, drinking wine and reading did the same for me as exercise, there would be no contest.
‘BUT. I have come to find out that “working out” is that perfect little pill everyone is looking for,’ she added. ‘It makes you feel good, look good, good for your brain and body — a small miracle that has to be paid [off] by a little discomfort.’
