Former supermodel Paulina Porizkova was seen out in public for the first time since she shared a tearful post on social media, in which she opened up about a betrayal.
During her first sighting in nearly week, the 56-year-old Czechoslovakia-born beauty rocked a light grey t-shirt and black helmet as she rode her scooter around New York City.
An eyewitness described her as looking ‘serious’ as she cruised around with a stone-faced expression after making headlines for posting a crying selfie to her Instagram.
Rough week: Former supermodel Paulina Porizkova was seen out in public for the first time since she shared a tearful post on social media, in which she opened up about a betrayal
On Thursday, Porizkova shared an emotional photo of herself while opening up about her struggle to learn how to trust again after being ‘betrayed’ by a loved one.
The model let herself be vulnerable on Instagram when she posted a makeup-free photo of herself lying on the couch with her eyes red and welled with tears.
‘I know you all enjoy happy posts, seeing people pick themselves up, dust off their pants and get back on the horse, all while smiling to let you know this fall just made them stronger and better people,’ she wrote. ‘But. Every day is not a happy day in the path of recovery.’

Porizkova, who has struggled with anxiety and depression, went on to speak of a great betrayal in her life, though she remained vague about the situation she was referring to.
‘Trust after being betrayed seems as far fetched as being shot into space. Correction. It’s easier to see myself shot into space at this moment,’ she admitted.
‘When you’ve been betrayed — promised something, only to have that promise broken without your participation — you were blindsided. You trusted someone you loved, and now all love is suspect. But love is not possible without trust. And a world without love is not worth living. (All kinds of love).’
Bad day: Porizkova, 56, let herself be vulnerable on Instagram on Thursday when she shared a photo of herself crying on her couch while opening up about being ‘betrayed’
Porizkova recently broke up with Aaron Sorkin, but she had nothing but nice things to say about the Oscar-winning screenwriter following their split.
The Sports Illustrated alum may have been speaking about her late husband Ric Ocasek. The two were estranged and going through a divorce when he died in September 2019.
After The Cars frontman’s death, she learned that he had cut her out of his will, leaving her without any money, including her own earnings.
‘So what does one do when you want to stay open, but the wind of betrayal keeps slamming the door?’ she asked. ‘I guess — maybe — walk outside and brave the weather? You’ll find me in the metaphorical closet pilling on layers for protection.

‘For you [who’d] like to point out a crying selfie is the height of narcissism,’ she added. ‘I whole-heartedly agree!’
Just days before, Porizkova discussed the difficulties in dating in her 50s while sharing a nearly-nude photo of herself on Instagram.
Posing naked with just a large red sun hat to protect her modesty, she opened up in the caption about why she is on the dating app Hinge.
‘So many of you expressed surprise that a famous model would be on a dating app,’ she wrote. ‘You have offered advice: everything from “you don’t need a man, get a hobby, buy a cat — to — go to parties, call up whomever you’re interested in (because they are sure to want me?) and join a different dating app.”‘

Porizkova went on to explain that dating when you are older is difficult, even for a supermodel.
‘Dating in your fifties, even if you’re seen as attractive, is much different from dating when younger,’ she insisted. ‘For one, the pool of available men is now a puddle. The ones who are my age and been single for a long time are single for some very good reasons. And most guy[s] my age are looking for women ten to twenty years younger.
‘Did you know the most searched-for-age on dating app[s] is 50 for a man — and 18 for a woman?!’
A newly single Porizkova revealed last month that she had rejoined Hinge, just days after she revealed her breakup with Sorkin.
Risky business: Porizkova posed nearly-nude for a snapshot that she shared on her Instagram last Monday, when she opened up about her dating woes
She publicly announced their split on Instagram on July 20 after roughly three months together. She posted a photo of herself and her now-ex, 60, out for a walk with a broken heart emoji over it.
In the caption, she gushed about how wonderful the Oscar-winning screenwriter is, calling him ‘witty’ and ‘sexy.’ She never explicitly revealed why their relationship came to an end, but she alluded to them being too different.
‘I’m so grateful for his presence in my life. He helped heal me and reclaim myself. There truly may be no better man, no man who’s more genuinely “good,”‘ she wrote. ‘He’s brilliant and witty and funny and sexy.
‘But it doesn’t matter how much we may wish we were birds of a feather — we’re still a duck and a goose.’

The author went on to note that she will not be speaking of their breakup in the future out of respect for Sorkin.
‘As unfiltered as I usually am, this involves someone else’s privacy — so this is all I’ll ever say on the subject,’ she concluded.
Sorkin was the first man Porizkova has been publicly linked to since the death of her estranged husband.
She briefly dated Men in Black writer Ed Solomon in May 2019 while separated from Ocasek. They were together for several months before quietly breaking up.
