‘Ok, here [is] some shameless promotion for my friend’s incredible villas,’ she wrote. ‘There are three of them, two, [three] and four bedrooms, high up in the Hermosa Hills, overlooking the jungle and with the ocean on the horizon.’

Costa Rica has become a happy place for the mother of two, who traveled there in early 2020 when she was just months into mourning her late husband Ric Ocasek, who died in September 2019.

The supermodel went on to open up about how much the resort means to her, saying she has ‘come here to heal repeatedly.’

‘I don’t know what it is about being here, but my anxiety drops to nearly undetectable, and I feel like I get to pause all the stress of life,’ she said. ‘The minute I leave, it all comes rushing in again, but aaah, I can live for those moments of peace.

‘I’m so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to come here,’ she added. ‘And for good friends who give me a hand when I need it.’

Paulina, who is believed to be dating Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, ended her post with a coy comment about her swimwear of choice.

‘This bikini I bought in LA to lounge at the pool of someone special,’ she concluded.

Paulina seems to be having an incredible time in Costa Rica, and the day before, she shared a video of herself modeling an electric blue string bikini while standing under a waterfall in the lush rainforest.

‘Do go chasing waterfalls! While on a jungle hike, we stumbled on this amazing waterfall. Good thing I always wear a bikini to hike in the jungle,’ she captioned the clip.

‘I should also add that we got totally lost after this, and wandered the jungle for about an hour before finding our way.’

Paulina then gave a shout-out to her friend, artist Sheila Berger, saying: ‘Thank you for the great camera work and for trusting me to get us the hell out.’

The author arrived in Costa Rica on Sunday after traveling 19 hours from Rome.

Paulina shared a photo of herself boarding a small plane on July 11, writing: ‘Goodbye Rome, hello Costa Rica! It only took me 19 hours to get here. Also — 19 hours in a mask is itchy.

‘I ended up eating Fritos (sorry, don’t like chips) just so I could not wear it for a moment,’ she admitted. ‘But here I am. It’s vacation time thanks to my friends Thierry and Marcia.’

Hours later, she posted a snapshot of herself drinking out of a coconut and enjoying local fruit while gushing about the scenery at her villa.

‘My reward for a million hours in the air, s****y airport motels and tiny scary planes, is waking up here,’ she captioned the image. ‘Fresh mango and papaya straight off the trees on the property. Cold coconut milk with a steel straw. Birds singing, the ocean glisten on the horizon and monkeys, actual monkeys! are playing in the Guanacaste tree right in front of me. If this is not heaven, what is?’

Paulina, who is clearly a fan of the wildlife, later shared a video of herself watching a family of monkeys in a nearby tree.

Paulina was last in Costa Rica in March 2020; she came home right when most of the country went into lockdown. She tried to return to the tropical country in November with her two sons, Jonathan, 27, and Oliver, 23, but as soon as they landed, she learned her passport had expired, and they were put on the next plane home.

‘I had a total nervous breakdown in the airport, and they actually had to put me in a wheelchair to take me back to the plane, I was crying so hard I don’t even remember it,’ she wrote on Instagram at the time. ‘I think this will be a really funny story — soon.’

Prior to her latest trip to Costa Rica, Paulina was working in Rome, where she strutted her stuff in Fendi’s runway show last Thursday.

She looking every inch a supermodel in a high-collared white suit and matching pants. She appeared alongside a host of famous fashion faces on the catwalk, including Amber Valetta and Kate Moss.

Instead of a typical runway, the models walked through an intricate maze of archways before coming to a stop on a large leveled structure — a picture-perfect spot for a final photo of all the looks together.

Ahead of her appearance in the show, Paulina — who had traveled to the Italian capital ten days before — teased her involvement, sharing behind-the-scenes snapshots of herself.

‘Backstage getting ready for… stay tuned,’ she wrote alongside the image, which showed her with her long blonde tresses pulled up into a slicked-back bun that was tied with a piece of lilac tulle in a ballerina-esque style.

Paulina also took a selfie with fellow supermodel Christy Turlington, 52, who appeared alongside her in the show.

‘One of the best things about doing a show is getting to meet old and new friends. I have always loved Christy; no one is more good and authentic than her,’ she wrote in the photo’s caption.

She then thanked both Christy and Fendi designer Kim Jones, adding: ‘Thank you @mrkimjones for this amazing event. Thank you @cturlington for being you.’

Paulina’s appearance in the show came just days after she caused a serious stir on Instagram by posting a nude mirror selfie that she had snapped in the bathroom of her Italian hotel.

The cheeky snapshot captured her enviable figure reflected from all angles, courtesy of the many mirrors in her bathroom.

If you’ve got it… Paulina showed off her incredible figure in a nude selfie that was posted to her Instagram earlier this month, joking that she snapped it because she was ‘bored’

Paulina shot her photo while standing in her empty bathtub, flashing her derriere in the mirror behind her, while ensuring that the front-facing shot revealed nothing from the waist down.

She then used her arms to cover her breasts and kept one leg in front of the other to protect her modesty in one of the other mirror reflections.

‘My hotel Eden in Rome, has, besides a beautiful room I’m staying in, this pretty happening bathroom. After work and a leisurely bath, I was bored, which led to this celebration of narcissism, the naked selfie. What else was there to do? I mean, besides things like reading a good book or watching Italian TV,’ the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum joked.

Paulina went on to pose a philosophical question, asking whether a man would have done the same thing had he been given a camera and left in the same room with some time to kill.

‘…It made me wonder what would happen if you gave a man a mirror and a camera and lots of spare time, versus a woman,’ she wrote.

The model then warned off any trolls who were tempted to criticize her for posting the nude snap, adding: ‘And for all of you who have a rough time with nudity, this thread will not be a safe place for you. Godspeed.’
