Pedro Goncalves scored a wonder goal from the halfway line as he brilliantly lobbed Aaron Ramsdale in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Sporting FC were level just after the hour mark and in remarkable circumstances as the Portuguese attacking midfielder spotted the England goalkeeper off his line.

Neither side could find a winner in normal time at the Emirates Stadium as the game went into extra-time.

The 24-year-old joined Sporting in the summer of 2020 after a season at top-flight side Famalicao.

Goncalves had a two-year stint at Wolves from 2017 to 2019, joining Nuno Espirito Santo’s side when they were in the Championship.
