Pennsylvania car thief says he’s Matthew McConaughey

  • Troy Miller, 46, was arrested after prowling around a home, ringing the doorbell multiple times, and allegedly entering the resident’s car in Pennsylvania 
  • When police arrived and asked for identification, Miller insisted he was actor Matthew McConaughey, 48, and never revealed his true identity
  • He was arrested on Sunday on charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, false identification , loitering and prowling at night

Troy Miller, 46, was arrested in Pennsylvania for allegedly stealing a car and claiming he was actor Matthew McConaughey

A Pennsylvania man who allegedly attempted to steal a car claimed he was Hollywood heartthrob Matthew McConaughey when police asked for his identification.

Police were alerted about a suspicious person prowling outside of a Georges Township home.

Miller had not only skulked around the home, but he also rang the doorbell multiple times, and allegedly entered and sat in the resident’s car.

When authorities arrived on the scene they found Troy Miller, 46, sitting in the car belonging to the house he was lurking around.

When police asked him to identify himself, he claimed he was the famed 48-year-old star of Dazed and Confused.

Despite similar ages and similar hair scruff, the two did not bear much resemblance to each other. 

Police arrested Miller on Sunday on charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, false identification, loitering and prowling at night.    

He was booked into the Fayette County Prison on a bond of $500.
