A 90-year-old man has been killed in an apparent hit-and-run in Dorset, police have said.
A car allegedly hit the man at a junction in Charmouth, about 40 miles east of Exeter, which led paramedics to call police at 7.11pm on Thursday.
A local man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences, Dorset Police said in a statement.

The traffic unit’s sergeant Sarah Jones said: ‘Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very distressing time.’
Sgt Jones said police were looking at the circumstances of the incident, adding: ‘I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of The Street at the relevant time and witnessed what happened to please contact me.
‘I would also like to hear from any motorists who were travelling along that road at the relevant time and may have captured the incident on dashcam.’
