A $1 ‘mutant vehicle’, a $15,000 giant sneaker – and a mustache-covered tent named ‘Yurt Reynolds’: The most BIZARRE Burning Man items listed on Craigslist revealed
- Burning Man kicks off in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada on August 25 and lasts for a week
- People living nearby in Las Vegas and the San Francisco Bay area are trying to sell things to festival-goers on Craigslist
- Many are selling over-the-top costumes and strange pieces of art
- Others are selling confusing transportation, like silly-looking bikes and homemade pedicabs
With Burning Man less than three weeks away, hopeful festival-goers are hitting Craiglist in search of last-minute tickets.
But a quick search for ‘Burning Man’ in the Las Vegas and San Francisco Bay areas turns up way more than just festival passes — the results also include lots and lots of stuff that locals are hoping to unload to those crazy kids spending a week in the desert.
Items for sale truly run the gamut, from out-there artwork to over-the-top outfits featuring sequins, fur, and embellishments.
Those in need of transportation can find bikes of just about every variety, including varieties they’d previously never imagined: Think homemade four-seaters, dazzling lights and decorations, and even pedicabs.
Attendees with a few bucks to spare can also pick up a mustachioed yurt named Yurt Reynolds ($400), two boxes containing 2,000 matches ($25), or a blue mannequin leg ($24).
Set it on fire! People are selling some truly weird stuff on Craigslist ahead of Burning Man — and it seems to use that nothing good could come of having 2,000 matches
What a steal! This one-of-a-kind ‘mutant vehicle’ is up for grabs for the low, low price of $1
Throwback: Forget the old lady who lived in a shoe — one lucky buyer can be the old weirdo who drove in a shoe
Good luck! Another seller is hoping to nab $2,400 for this pedicab
Out-there: The person selling this bike may not be of this planet
Snazzy ride! This $199 bike comes complete with neon lights, pink furry covers, and a truly unique set of handlebars
Smart: It’s a good thing this seller is offering the option of buying two of these blue mannequin legs for $49, because frankly, what would someone do with just one blue mannequin leg
Fair price: $32,900 is a bargain considering no camping trip would be complete without an aircraft loader
Getting creative: Not many yurts could call themselves sex symbols, but this mustachioed one named Yurt Reynolds is as hunky as they come
Why limit yourself? This wolf mask is being marketed for Burning Man, but really, it could be worn every day — work work, date nights, you name it
Work it! The best part of this listing for costumes including fur coats is that the man selling them modeled most of it himself
What a bargain! This person is giving away a free crate — which he thinks will be especially enticing to people heading to Burning Man
Sketchy: This person is willing to give someone a ride in exchange for a ticket — and seems totally legit
OK dude: This homemade four-seater vehicle is going for a whopping $1,000
Makes sense: There is also plenty of art for sale, that apparently someone is supposed to take with them all the way to Burning Man
Shooting high: People are also hoping to score big bucks for their homemade designs
Yeti style: There were a number of fur coats listed on Craigslist, with pictures of how they can be worn at the festival
