People who cheat on their partners reveal how they got away with it

People who are unfaithful in one relationship are three times more likely to be unfaithful in their next relationship, Relationships Australia research has found.

And that statistic was hugely apparent in Kyle and Jackie O’s latest segment on cheating, when a man named Jeremy spoke about his current predicament – opening a can of worms in the process.

Jeremy, who is in his mid-20s, has been cheating on his girlfriend for the last six months with a woman he met at a party. They have two kids together and he has no plans to stop being unfaithful until he is 40.

He keeps a second phone in their toilet cistern to communicate with the other woman – something he learnt from the TV series Breaking Bad – and they meet up every fortnight.

‘I love the sex and I love the sneakiness,’ he admitted, hoping the hosts would be able to provide ‘tips’ on how he could keep the charade up.

And he wasn’t disappointed by the public’s response, with a number of other cheaters calling in to confess how they did it.

‘Change all your passwords to something she’ll never guess. Nothing obvious like your favourite football team. Because believe me she will find out and go looking,’ Ella explained.

I had an affair with a married man and have three kids. It’s all fun and games until you get caught.

Another man by the name of Justin said he should stage some photos while he’s out with his friends, or eating dinner, just in case his girlfriend asks where he is.

‘When she’s suspicious you’ll have some alibi photos,’ Justin explained.

Richard just thought he should take down notes on all the times his girlfriend ‘messes up or does something wrong’ and use it as leverage when the cheating inevitably comes to light.

Some callers merely rang in to explain why it ‘isn’t worth it’, with Kirsten relaying her own movie-like saga.

‘I had an affair with a married man and have three kids. It’s all fun and games until you get caught,’ she explained.

She met her partner in crime on the school playground and they proceeded to have a three-month relationship – having sex in the car mostly.

But Kirsten had a stalker and he cottoned on to her cheating ways, one day snapping some photos of the pair in compromising positions and threatening to send them to her husband.

‘It was that or have sex with my stalker so I told him to send them to my husband,’ she said.

Ultimately the ploy was a blessing in disguise because she was ‘going down a path of self-destruction’ and likely wouldn’t have stopped unless her hand was forced.

Another caller, Georgia, was in a similar situation. She has been married for 10 years and is now ‘in love’ with her best friend – who she cheats on her husband with.

She keeps having to delete messages and calls and pays with cash when they meet in hotel rooms.

While the guilt does make her feel uncomfortable she can’t help but do it.

Ultimately most of the audience listening to the tales believed Jeremy should stop and confess to the mother of his children – or quit the affair.
