Perth beauty influencer poses a very divisive question about supermarket etiquette – so do you agree?

A Perth influencer has questioned supermarket etiquette when it comes to eating a bag of chips during a shop.

Lauren ‘Loz’ Curtis, who has amassed a staggered 1.1 million Instagram followers, posed the question in a quick clip.

‘Here’s a divisive question for you,’ she began.

‘If you’re at a shopping centre and you’re hungry and you take a bag of chips off the shelf that you haven’t paid for yet, is it okay to open them and eat them before you have paid for them?’

The exceedingly simple question set off a slew of answers, with most followers saying to wait until they passed the checkout.

  • No, pay for them first. 6 votes

‘I understand why people do it but for me personally I would rather starve then risk being yelled at for opening them before paying lol,’ she said.

‘Hahahaha used to work at Woolworths. Can guarantee the workers do not get paid enough to care as long as you pay at the end you’re good eat ya chips hahaha,’ another wrote.

‘I only do it with water. I feel like anything else can wait until you get in the car/home,’ another added.

Others thought it was fine.

‘I don’t think that’s divisive at all! It’s a definite YES! You’re still paying for it!!’ they said.

‘Of course, as long as you pay for them at the checkout – that shopping hunger is real,’ another added.
