Bizarre end to search for man accused of sparking a wild police pursuit and dumping a firearm in a shopping centre car park before he was found hiding inside a CAR BOOT wearing women’s clothing

A man who allegedly dumped a sawn-off shotgun in a car park has been found allegedly hiding in a car boot dressed in a women’s top with a blonde wig.
The man, 26, was allegedly spotted in a black Toyota RAV4 with false number plates driving along Calume Street in Hillman in Perth on Wednesday.
When police tried to pull the vehicle over, he allegedly sped away, sparking a police chase with lights and sirens through Hillman and Rockingham in Perth’s outer southern suburbs.
The Golden Bay man allegedly dumped the RAV4 at an underground car park at the Rockingham Shopping Centre and concealed a ‘package’ in the area which was later identified as a sawn-off shotgun.

He allegedly left the premises undetected after leaving in a second vehicle.
Officers tracked down the man at an address in Hillman a short time later with the assistance of the police airwing.
Authorities stopped a white Holden Commodore that was leaving the home and allegedly found the man hiding inside the boot with a wig and wearing women’s clothes.

It’s understood the wig and the woman’s top were an alleged ploy for the man to disguise himself.
The man was charged with failing to stop for police, reckless driving to escape police pursuit, no authority to drive and possessing a firearm in circumstances of aggravation.
He will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court next Friday (May 19).
Meanwhile, a woman, 32, from Karnup was also charged with breach of bail, possessing drug paraphernalia and no authority to drive.
She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court next week.
