Perth thief caught on camera trying on balaclava disguise

A man preparing to execute a robbery on a service station failed incredibly after his face was caught in clear view on CCTV camera moments earlier.

The thief was captured tossing between which disguise to choose as he stood outside the Ascot service station on the Great Eastern Highway in Perth.

Trying on a pair of ‘speed dealer’ sunglasses and a hooded jumper, the man opted to instead slip into a black full-face balaclava before strolling into the station. 

The thief was caught on CCTV camera for several moments trying to choose which disguise to go with

Still not aware he was in clear view of the CCTV camera, the man eventually entered the store.

He allegedly demanded cash from the attendant and left with the money.

The incident occurred on March 19, but police are still looking for the man.
